Alfred Hitchcock

Born in London in 1889. Alfred Hitchcock, popularly known as the Master of Suspense, is one of the most important filmmakers in cinema history. He began his career in the United Kingdom at the end of the silent movies age and he made his name with a series of popular films as The 39 Steps (1935) or The Lady Vanishes (1938). But it was in 1940 when he leapt to fame as David O. Selznick hired him to work in Rebecca. Shadow of a Doubt (1943), Rope (1948), Rear Window (1954), Dial M for Murder (1954), Vertigo (1958) or Psycho (1960), are just some of the masterpieces he left behind.
