Playwright Richard Collier receives a gift from an elderly woman after a performance of one of his plays. Years later, he thinks he recognizes the deceased old woman in the portrait of an old actress. Richard falls in love with the lady in the portrait and, through hypnosis, travels back to 1912 to meet and conquer the enigmatic and beautiful woman.

Jeannot Szwarc

French film director and screenwriter graduated from Harvard University. He has also produced television shows. He was born in Paris and began working for American television in the 1960s, where he directed episodes of Ironside, The Virginian, Colombo and Kojak. His film works include Bug (1975), Jaws 2 (1978), Somewhere in Time (1980), or Supergirl (1984). He has also directed numerous episodes of television series such as Smallville, Ally McBeal, Fringe, Castle, Bones or Grey’s Anatomy.
